• Firewall

  A firewall is a device that separates your network from the Internet. Without proper configuration, it will either block too much traffic or not enough. Firewalls must be customized to fit your business practices. A properly configured device will allow access to the resources you need without allowing access of your company proprietary information to individuals outside your company attempting to “hack” into your computer files.

• VPN setup

  Do you need to access your network from home? Do you have a satellite office that needs access to your files? Tired of emailing documents back and forth or relying on costly courier deliveries? A Virtual Private Network (VPN) will solve all of these complicated and insecure methods. A VPN creates a secure “tunnel” between two locations. In order to work from home, a software client can be installed on your home computer which will allow you to access your computer(s) at work. If you have a remote office, a site-to-site VPN will make a seamless link between the offices.

• Wiring closet maintenance

  Wiring closets can quickly become an eyesore and overly complicated for maintenance purposes. When it comes to installing new devices or troubleshooting networking or computer issues, a clean wiring closet makes the job easier and quicker. A poorly wired office can have collisions in data transmission that will slow down the network. Most wiring closets have old wiring that sometimes get in the way and cause more problems. • Centrally Managed Wireless network

  Wireless networking allows laptops and other wireless devices the freedom to move from one room to the next. Wireless routers are perfect for a small office, but a centrally managed wireless network is necessary for a building with multiple floors and many offices. A centrally managed wireless network has at least one controller that acts as the brain. The laptops connect to the wireless network via wireless access points, which in turn talk to the controller.

  We can help you centrally plan, manage, secure and monitor your wireless network. Some configurations allow guests access with restricted guest level privileges. Guests are allowed to connect to the network and the Internet with controls that restrict them access to any sensitive data on the corporate network.

  Power over Ethernet (POE) technology provides greater freedom for the placement of wireless access points since they physically do not have to be plugged into a power outlet.

• Network Segmentation

  Network segmentation allows a network to be split into segments or groups of sub nets of computers and peripherals. One sub network may allow Internet access and access to company files. A second sub network can be setup to allow access to files, but restrict Internet access. A third segment or sub network could allow Internet access only.
